DE FILTER CLEANING AND GRID REPLACEMENTS

At least once every year you should have your entire DE Filter system, including the grids, cleaned and sometimes sooner than that. As impurities gather onto the DE filter, it creates a thick muddy-like paste that won’t easily wash out. Over time with repeated cleanings of algae infestations force the thick muddy paste between the grids, and becoming stuck. This you are unable to backwash out, so it will need replacing.
